With thanks to Elekta, this year we were able to invite 20 additional Medical Physicists from low-to-middle-income countries across the Asia-Pacific region to register and attend the annual Engineering and Physical Sciences in Medicine (EPSM) virtual conference, held in early November.
The supported attendees included treatment hospital radiotherapy teams from Mongolia, Malaysia and Cambodia.
This initiative was our Covid-safe option in meeting the aims of the Elkta travel award : to further the education and professional development of award recipients as Medical Physicists, as well as help develop professional relationships with colleagues across Australia, New Zealand and SE-Asia.
EPSM is the annual industry conference of the ACPSEM.
