Dear Members,

Asia-Pacific Special Interest Group Assignment

This is a call for expressions of interest for a volunteer ROMP assigned to support the Medical Physicists at the Mittaphab (Friendship) Hospital in Vientiane, Laos arranged through the Asia-Pacific Special Interest Group.

The centre has been operating since 2017 with an Elekta Synergy linear accelerator, Philips CT and Elekta Monaco planning system.  A recent visit identified a need to provide more training of staff to improve their equipment quality controls as well as treatment planning and delivery techniques and associated verification methods.

An apartment is available next to the hospital for this mission and all travel and living expenses are provided.  Vientiane, located on the north-eastern bank of the Mekong, serves as the capital of Laos. It has a relaxing atmosphere you won’t find in many capitals across the world.  Vientiane also has a diverse range of hotels, restaurants, and cafes, some of which occupying French-style villas dating back to colonial times.

If you are interested, then please contact:
